11/17/07-- I was working in my home office when I noticed this unusual "sliver of light" in the western sky overlooking the Napa River (California). It lasted for over an hour until night fall. No one seems to have a clue as to what caused it. It looks like it originates over the hills toward Sonoma. The pictures really don't do it justice, as I just got a new camera and had no idea how to make manual adjustments. This thing was glowing like a campfire!
